In2Games Shows Xbox360 and PS3 Motion Controller

Wednesday, February 15th, 2012

The UK’s In2Games, which develops motion-sensing gaming technology for Sony’s PlayStation 3 controller and Microsoft’s Xbox 360 controller, In recently ,it has released an image and some information on the first motion controller for either system. Called the Freedom Controller, it relies on a combination of multiple three-axis accelerometers and ultrasonic and RF technologies to track the position of any wireless accessory, such as a golf club or baseball bat. Thus far, the only software capable of taking advantage of the new technology is In2Games’ own Squeebles title, though In2Games executive are promising close working relationships with third-party game developers on bringing more to market.

Nintendo’s Wii, the only other gaming console that has thus far relied on full motion controllers for the interface, needs users to point their RF controllers at a sensor bar. Sony PS3 Dual Shock 3 controller will recognize tilting motions but is much simpler than the In2Games controller. The Freedom Controller comes with a base unit that connects to either gaming console via a USB port, and includes two sensor bars that can be attached to the sides of a TV or mounted on their included stands.

In2Games has not released dates or pricing information for the Freedom game Controller.

A Modification Test on Xbox 360 Controller

Friday, February 10th, 2012

Here is a new works created by a game fan. Maybe this wiil not let gamers feel so exciting, but this  is mainly related to technical test for Xbox 360 controller. In the following picture we can see that  a white board which is drew a XBOX 360 controller picture on it, and we can see the button of the controller on the board is digged out and become empty, and then on the button equiped with LED, finally connected to the Xbox 360 wireless controller. As long as press the button of the controller , tthe corresponding LED button the board will light up at the same time, the simulation button with LT, RT is divided into three LED light sections based on force . it can be used to test the delay of the button.

It is said that the Xbox 360 game:Mass Effect 2 and other games all adopted this method to test. In order to making the test accurate, this creator has taken off wireless transmission device to eliminate the signal error to the Xbox 360 console. And the microphone hole is used into as a connection cable to the board. So isn’t a little different?

A Few Ideas for Xbox 720 and PS4 Controllers

Monday, February 6th, 2012

With rumors of when the release for the Xbox 720 and the PS4 will be out due to the fact that both Microsoft and Sony have said they are working on their next-gen consoles. We now feel that another aspect of these consoles needs to be looked into, so we thought that we would discuss a few ideas for Xbox 720 and PS4 controllers.

The easiest way to look at what we can expect is to see what is right in front of us now. The Xbox 360 and the PS3 both have great controllers, but most would agree that the PS3 controller has the edge. Okay, so we know that the triggers need some work, but the rest is almost perfect. The reason for this is because the Xbox 360 controller are too bulky, but those triggers are in a perfect position. How cool would it be if Microsoft and Sony got together and come up with one controller to rule them all?

The Xbox 720 really needs to have parallel analog sticks, as the whole gaming experience feels much better, especially when playing a fighting game. Now we are not saying that this is the same for all of you, but it is for most.

New Xbox 720 has been looking into the importance of the controller for Microsoft’s next-gen console and believes that they are under a huge amount of pressure; this is because they have to choose with going practical or to address the issue with current Xbox 360 games users?

The size of the controller will need to be reduced, along with the analog sticks. However, the biggest issue has always been in the design itself, which does seem to mirror the console itself in terms of style. We do find it strange how the console itself has evolved, but not the controller.

Now for us we believe that Sony will do something extra special with the design of their PlayStation 4 controller. Now there has been talk about offering a full touchscreen controller, but having played games on the iPad, this would be a huge mistake. However, they could still incorporate a screen just like Nintendo are doing with their Wii U, which you can see in this concept design here.

Five ps3 More Controllers That Ended Up Being Replaced

Tuesday, January 31st, 2012

Nintendo plans to modify the 3DS controls with a new add-on heavily, therefore, here are five more controllers that ended up being replaced due to market pressure or a hot new game.

The PS Dual Shock 3 replaced the original Six Axis controller. Sony introduced the Dual Shock 3, which combined both technologies in a controller that pretty much everyone liked a hell of a lot better. Somehow we still occasionally find original Six Axis PS3 controller in drawers in the office, and having to play without rumble still makes us sad.

The Jaguar Controller was replaced by the Atari Jaguar Pro, which had numerous flaws; two of them were outsized controller and absurd keypad. The Jaguar Pro Controller actually manages to add buttons. And now the Pro Controller has five more buttons than the already-ludicrous Jaguar controller–X, Y, and Z buttons to go with two shoulder buttons at the top. Six games ended up taking advantage of the keys, including a port of Primal Rage and Missile Command 3D.

The original Xbox Controller was replaced by the Controller S, which was difficult for people with smaller hands to play the game comfortably. The control setup was generally fine–it certainly worked well for Halo–but it was still less than ideal.

Microsoft responded by replacing the “fatty” with the Controller S, which was originally available only in Japan. By 2002, the ControllerS was the default Xbox controller, and “The Fatty” available only as an accessory. But while the mistake was quickly corrected, it was still a hard lesson for Microsoft–ergonomics matter. They were much more careful with the Xbox 360 controller.

The Dual Shock replaced the PS3 controller, which has proven the most durable. Now in its third generation, the only real additions to the Dual Shock 3 PS3 controller being the seldom-used motion controls; the Bluetooth wireless connection, and the USB output. Not bad for a controller that’s going on 14 years old.

Sega Genesis, its six button controller replaced the three button controller. The sleek design and added buttons made it become a favorite for Genesis owners, and one of the few successful add-ons for the console.

For the ‘Scene It?’ series of games, a special bundle of 4 wireless controllers has been produced by a third-party company, each with a buzzer pad and selection buttons for answering a question.

The ‘Guitar Hero’ and ‘Rock Band’ games have been one of the runaway successes of Xbox 360, in no small part down to the attempt by the games’ designers to produce a controller that makes the music experience more authentic. The wireless guitar for Xbox 360, including functions such as strumming, whammying and a detachable panel on the neck. The controllers can be customized with stickers.

Perhaps the most exciting accessory for the Xbox is Xbox 360 Kinect, which enables gamers to make their body the controller using their limbs, voice or special objects. Released in 2010, Kinect, which is now sold as part of special bundles, promises a bright future for Xbox gaming, enabling the casual and serious gamer to fully immerse themselves in the gaming experience in the comfort of their own home.

Epic Mickey Sequel may release during Christmas 2012

Friday, January 6th, 2012

It was confirmed by Disney newsletter that there will be Epic Mickey sequel released in 2012.

The newsletter revealed that Epic Mickey 2 is set to release during Christmas 2012, and will be available for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii. It was also confirmed that Epic Mickey 2 will have a cooperative multiplayer mode that will allow players to take control of either Mickey Mouse or Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. Much like the original title, players will be pressured to make decisions throughout the game that will affect how the world changes and how the game ends.
Disney Epic Mickey is an action-adventure plat forming game for the Wii console that sends Mickey Mouse on an epic journey of creativity and discovery. As Mickey, the player is propelled into Wasteland, an alternate world made up of Disney’s forgotten creative efforts, and is given the power to wield paint and paint thinner to dynamically change the world while determining Mickey’s path to becoming an epic hero. Through the use of this unique paint and paint thinner, the key components of animation and Mickey’s tools for impacting his world, players will have the ability to shape how the story unfolds as they discover the concept of “Play style Matters” – an innovative style of game play created by Disney Interactive Studios’ Junction Point, led by industry luminary Warren Spector, where players creatively tackle different challenges in the world to explore all the possibilities and storylines – but with consequences for their chosen actions.
Launched in 2010, Epic Mickey allowed players to take control of Mickey Mouse as he journeyed through a forgotten Disney world filled with Disney’s forgotten characters and regions. Epic Mickey was not only a grand revival for the popular mouse, it re-introduced Mickey in a whole new, slightly darker, light that we’ve come to love, marking Mickey as a video game icon. Given Epic Mickey’s success, it’s no surprise to us that Junction Point has decided to release a sequel. Are you ready to own a new Xbox 360 Controller or PS3 Controller to welcome it? For those who like Xbox 360 controllers, there are wide and selective amount of upgradable choices, which can make the decision on what to get a bit harder in the end. For the casual gamer, a basic or simple choice would give a good amount of a needed push of strength while playing their favorite titles like Battlefield 3. Though, if you are one who has had a bit or a load of experience, then you should think about getting a certain one among the many Xbox 360 controllers available to you. A Kind of PS3 Controller Which Looks Like Xbox 360’s!

Friday, December 23rd, 2011

Perhaps, in previous time you could plug in an Xbox 360 controller into the PS3 and play with the help of few adapters or use the PS3 controller on Xbox 360 but now a new controller is released that replicates the design of one console’s pad but works on the other.

Speedlink has come up with a controller that has an Xbox 360’s pad design but is compatible with PlayStaion 3 and not with Xbox 360. They did so by putting the layout of Xbox 360’s controller onto the PlayStation 3’s pad.

It is not the design or layout that has only been copied but the name looks pretty much familiar too as it is named as the XEOX and it has be released in October. There are few more things that look pretty much to that of Microsoft’s, such as instead of the PlayStation key in the middle of the controller you will see a green ring pretty much parallel to that of Xbox 360 wireless controller. But this design is already out on PC as it has become a standard design in pads. The only thing that is different from Xbox’s controller is the icons on buttons which are of PlayStation as circle, cross, square and triangle.

It is now upto people either they like it or dislike it. As for me I like it because I loved the Dreamcast controller’s look, it felt smoothly gripped in hands, Xbox 360’s controller is pretty much of the same design in almost all the aspects.
