Xbox 720 and PS4 Will Reveals At E3 2012

Friday, February 10th, 2012

Only a few week before CES kicks off in Las Vegas, rumors run rampant about Microsoft, Nintendo and Sony all unveiling new console hardware, some sooner than expected.

We’ve been talking about the yet-unnamed Xbox 720 and the likely-named PlayStation 4 for a very long time now, with contradictory “reports” and rumors surfacing almost monthly. While the only confirmed new upcoming console so far is Nintendo’s Wii U, the latest insider reports claim that Microsoft and Sony will both be unveiling new consoles at this summer’s E3, while Nintendo showcases the final build of their Wii U along with a new model of the 3DS.

Before getting into the latest, let’s do a brief recap of what we’ve heard as of late on the next-gen console front.

•The Xbox 720 could launch anywhere from this fall to early 2014 and we believe Microsoft will show it off at E3 2012. Latest reports have the device potentially doubling as a DVR with the Xbox 360 Kinect 2 system being so accurate, that it can read lips.

•The PlayStation 3 was generally expected to have the longest life cycle of the current-gen systems, but Sony has made it public that they don’t wish to launch their next platform later than the competition, and some analysts believe the PS4 could launch before the Xbox 720.

•The Wii U is coming this year and we’re all waiting to see how powerful it really is, not just compared to the old Xbox 360 console and PS3 but the upcoming Microsoft and Sony consoles.

•The 3DS had a tough start, but is flying higher now with stronger sales and a friendlier price point. Oddly missing the basic feature of a secondary analog stick, Nintendo launched an ugly, large circle pad peripheral which led to speculation of an obligatory improved 3DS Lite.

The latest on these fronts comes first from MCV who are reporting that their “third-party publishing sources” claim that Microsoft has informed their partners that they plan to debut the Xbox 720 at E3 in LA in June. They continue to explain that Sony has done the same, but that while these two consoles will be showcased, their pricing and launch details likely won’t be.

What this does mean however, is that E3 2012 could be the first time the world can directly compare the big three’s upcoming hardware offerings. Such moves from Sony and Microsoft could put Nintendo is a tough spot in launching the Wii U first, later this year, if the competitor products presented are more powerful or appealing.

This year promises to be a big one, and this just on the hardware side. Are you excited to see what’s next or are you okay waiting a while before the next-gen hits hard?

Will brand new Uncharted 4 launch on PS4?

Thursday, December 22nd, 2011

With the release of the newest Uncharted game Naughty Dog has now officially finished graphics. In an interview with the Official PlayStation Magazine, Justin Richmond, director on Uncharted 3, had this to say: “There are a ton of Drake adventures out there and we haven’t told all of them yet. As long as fans want the games and as long as we find something that’s interesting and will push the medium forward, we’ll continue to make them.”

Uncharted 3 has done well for PS3, and now that success points to something special for the PlayStation Vita, in the form of Uncharted: Golden Abyss. This will be released in Japan December 17, and February 22, 2012 in North America and Europe.
Following this pattern, the uncharted series would stop after the launch of the PS4, and the new console would be the dawn of a brand new series. But I doubt this is going to happen. If there are indeed several more stories to tell and Naughty Dog is committed to telling those stories as long as fans keep clamoring for them, the uncharted lifespan could easily stretch into the PS4 generation.
But even if it doesn’t, I’m pretty sure we’ll see at least one more title on the PS3 controller. And I don’t mean a port of the upcoming Uncharted: Golden Abyss for the PlayStation Vita. The PS Vita’s built-in gyroscope, camera, both touch screens, and the buttons on the system makes this game rewarding. You can use the camera to aim your sniper rifle within this game; you can make Drake climb on ropes by using the touch screen on the back, and so much more. Please visit the source above for their hands-on preview of the game on the PS Vita.
The current next-gen rumors put the Xbox 720 (but not the Xbox 360 kinect) in a 2013 launch window and the PS4 sometime in 2014. That means that Uncharted 4 will most likely be a PS3 release, though one that shows up toward the tail end of the PS3’s lifespan. Uncharted 5, if the series continues into the next generation, would be a PS4 title.

Friday, November 18th, 2011

According to media reports, SONY PS4 will adopt a new motion sensor which is similar to Microsoft Xbox360 Kinect sensor. The report also said that the new game console will begin into production at the end of this year, so that it can sell on the market in 2012 .

In addition, the report said the PS4 Kinect controller will have to be responsible for the production by the Taiwan Foxconn and Pegatron , the two companies has also participated in the manufacturing process of the PS3 console.

By 2012, the amount of goods sale is expected to reach 20 million sets. So it seems that SONY and Microsoft wil have a competition in the Kinect market. Although earlier PS Move has already been defeated, but this time we don’t who will be the winner.
