Five ps3 More Controllers That Ended Up Being Replaced

Tuesday, January 31st, 2012

Nintendo plans to modify the 3DS controls with a new add-on heavily, therefore, here are five more controllers that ended up being replaced due to market pressure or a hot new game.

The PS Dual Shock 3 replaced the original Six Axis controller. Sony introduced the Dual Shock 3, which combined both technologies in a controller that pretty much everyone liked a hell of a lot better. Somehow we still occasionally find original Six Axis PS3 controller in drawers in the office, and having to play without rumble still makes us sad.

The Jaguar Controller was replaced by the Atari Jaguar Pro, which had numerous flaws; two of them were outsized controller and absurd keypad. The Jaguar Pro Controller actually manages to add buttons. And now the Pro Controller has five more buttons than the already-ludicrous Jaguar controller–X, Y, and Z buttons to go with two shoulder buttons at the top. Six games ended up taking advantage of the keys, including a port of Primal Rage and Missile Command 3D.

The original Xbox Controller was replaced by the Controller S, which was difficult for people with smaller hands to play the game comfortably. The control setup was generally fine–it certainly worked well for Halo–but it was still less than ideal.

Microsoft responded by replacing the “fatty” with the Controller S, which was originally available only in Japan. By 2002, the ControllerS was the default Xbox controller, and “The Fatty” available only as an accessory. But while the mistake was quickly corrected, it was still a hard lesson for Microsoft–ergonomics matter. They were much more careful with the Xbox 360 controller.

The Dual Shock replaced the PS3 controller, which has proven the most durable. Now in its third generation, the only real additions to the Dual Shock 3 PS3 controller being the seldom-used motion controls; the Bluetooth wireless connection, and the USB output. Not bad for a controller that’s going on 14 years old.

Sega Genesis, its six button controller replaced the three button controller. The sleek design and added buttons made it become a favorite for Genesis owners, and one of the few successful add-ons for the console.

Epic Mickey Sequel may release during Christmas 2012

Friday, January 6th, 2012

It was confirmed by Disney newsletter that there will be Epic Mickey sequel released in 2012.

The newsletter revealed that Epic Mickey 2 is set to release during Christmas 2012, and will be available for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Nintendo Wii. It was also confirmed that Epic Mickey 2 will have a cooperative multiplayer mode that will allow players to take control of either Mickey Mouse or Oswald the Lucky Rabbit. Much like the original title, players will be pressured to make decisions throughout the game that will affect how the world changes and how the game ends.
Disney Epic Mickey is an action-adventure plat forming game for the Wii console that sends Mickey Mouse on an epic journey of creativity and discovery. As Mickey, the player is propelled into Wasteland, an alternate world made up of Disney’s forgotten creative efforts, and is given the power to wield paint and paint thinner to dynamically change the world while determining Mickey’s path to becoming an epic hero. Through the use of this unique paint and paint thinner, the key components of animation and Mickey’s tools for impacting his world, players will have the ability to shape how the story unfolds as they discover the concept of “Play style Matters” – an innovative style of game play created by Disney Interactive Studios’ Junction Point, led by industry luminary Warren Spector, where players creatively tackle different challenges in the world to explore all the possibilities and storylines – but with consequences for their chosen actions.
Launched in 2010, Epic Mickey allowed players to take control of Mickey Mouse as he journeyed through a forgotten Disney world filled with Disney’s forgotten characters and regions. Epic Mickey was not only a grand revival for the popular mouse, it re-introduced Mickey in a whole new, slightly darker, light that we’ve come to love, marking Mickey as a video game icon. Given Epic Mickey’s success, it’s no surprise to us that Junction Point has decided to release a sequel. Are you ready to own a new Xbox 360 Controller or PS3 Controller to welcome it? Which Controller is your best favorite, PS3 or Xbox 360?

Tuesday, December 27th, 2011

Now the upgraded gaming accessories like a certain kind of color or customization options can have gamers to experience their beloved games in a better and newer way. The choice is extremely personal, choose the one that is right for you, both devices have similar shock sensitive controllers that are wireless. Xbox controllers require batteries while PS3 controllers are re-chargeable.

For those who like Xbox 360 controllers, there are wide and selective amount of upgradable choices, which can make the decision on what to get a bit harder in the end. For the casual gamer, a basic or simple choice would give a good amount of a needed push of strength while playing their favorite titles like Battlefield 3. A Battlefield 3 controller gives them the ability to accomplish this goal, and greatly improve their skills in the process. Though, if you are one who has had a bit or a load of experience, then you should think about getting a certain one among the many Xbox 360 controllers available to you. But like it was stated before, it can be a bit of difficulty of what you want or need.
On the other hand, a wireless PS3 controller offers a large advantage, and can help anyone who owns one the ability to own others on the PlayStation network. Like their counterparts, PS3 controllers offer a large variety of use during matches and rounds. Since the latest titles are appearing on other systems, why not have the right customization peripherals as well? Therefore, PS3 controller is what you are looking for to fulfill your loved controllers if you’re a PS3 gamer and in the market.
Gamers who have used the standard equipment will know the differences when they try out something different. As soon as they take a test drive on one, they will know and love the great capabilities of them. So if you or your friends are curious of this piece of glorified gaming equipment, now is the time.

Information for playing PS3 3D Games

Tuesday, December 27th, 2011

There are quite a few PS3 3D Games out there, with many more coming out soon. The PS3 is one of the major seventh generation video game consoles and is a tough competitor for the Microsoft Xbox 360 Kinect and Nintendo Wii. Sony has brought video game graphics to a whole new level with the introduction of 3D gaming on the PlayStation 3 (PS3).

Video games are more exciting, realistic, and intense when played in 3D.

Another of PS3’s novelty features is the PlayStation Network connectivity which enables PS3 users to connect online to play multiplayer games with other PS3 users all over the world!

Most of these 3D games are expected to be released later in the year 2011. However, the release dates of some of these games have not been announced yet.

Metal Gear Solid: Rising

Motor Storm: Apocalypse

Ico and Shadow of the Colossus: the Collection

Virtua Tennis 4

Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One

The Last Guardian

Resistance 3

Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception

Jak and Daxter HD Collection

If you own a PS3, you give up on half the fun if you don’t have 3D games! Those of you who are planning on getting a PS3 Controller and grabbing a whole lot of 3D games to play on it need to be aware of a few pointers that would help you enjoy the most awesome gaming experience on your beloved PS3 console.

A Kind of PS3 Controller Which Looks Like Xbox 360’s!

Friday, December 23rd, 2011

Perhaps, in previous time you could plug in an Xbox 360 controller into the PS3 and play with the help of few adapters or use the PS3 controller on Xbox 360 but now a new controller is released that replicates the design of one console’s pad but works on the other.

Speedlink has come up with a controller that has an Xbox 360’s pad design but is compatible with PlayStaion 3 and not with Xbox 360. They did so by putting the layout of Xbox 360’s controller onto the PlayStation 3’s pad.

It is not the design or layout that has only been copied but the name looks pretty much familiar too as it is named as the XEOX and it has be released in October. There are few more things that look pretty much to that of Microsoft’s, such as instead of the PlayStation key in the middle of the controller you will see a green ring pretty much parallel to that of Xbox 360 wireless controller. But this design is already out on PC as it has become a standard design in pads. The only thing that is different from Xbox’s controller is the icons on buttons which are of PlayStation as circle, cross, square and triangle.

It is now upto people either they like it or dislike it. As for me I like it because I loved the Dreamcast controller’s look, it felt smoothly gripped in hands, Xbox 360’s controller is pretty much of the same design in almost all the aspects.

Will brand new Uncharted 4 launch on PS4?

Thursday, December 22nd, 2011

With the release of the newest Uncharted game Naughty Dog has now officially finished graphics. In an interview with the Official PlayStation Magazine, Justin Richmond, director on Uncharted 3, had this to say: “There are a ton of Drake adventures out there and we haven’t told all of them yet. As long as fans want the games and as long as we find something that’s interesting and will push the medium forward, we’ll continue to make them.”

Uncharted 3 has done well for PS3, and now that success points to something special for the PlayStation Vita, in the form of Uncharted: Golden Abyss. This will be released in Japan December 17, and February 22, 2012 in North America and Europe.
Following this pattern, the uncharted series would stop after the launch of the PS4, and the new console would be the dawn of a brand new series. But I doubt this is going to happen. If there are indeed several more stories to tell and Naughty Dog is committed to telling those stories as long as fans keep clamoring for them, the uncharted lifespan could easily stretch into the PS4 generation.
But even if it doesn’t, I’m pretty sure we’ll see at least one more title on the PS3 controller. And I don’t mean a port of the upcoming Uncharted: Golden Abyss for the PlayStation Vita. The PS Vita’s built-in gyroscope, camera, both touch screens, and the buttons on the system makes this game rewarding. You can use the camera to aim your sniper rifle within this game; you can make Drake climb on ropes by using the touch screen on the back, and so much more. Please visit the source above for their hands-on preview of the game on the PS Vita.
The current next-gen rumors put the Xbox 720 (but not the Xbox 360 kinect) in a 2013 launch window and the PS4 sometime in 2014. That means that Uncharted 4 will most likely be a PS3 release, though one that shows up toward the tail end of the PS3’s lifespan. Uncharted 5, if the series continues into the next generation, would be a PS4 title.

PlayStation Vita Release Date Set for 2011 Christmas

Thursday, December 8th, 2011

The Hong Kong version of Sony PlayStation Vita handheld will be available before Christmas December 23, 2011 after it’s out in Japan. You can grab 3G+ Wi-Fi version for 2780Hong Kong dollars, the Wi-Fi only model for 2280 Hong Kong dollars, but exchange for RMB, it’s some more affordable compared to the Japanese market.

PlayStation vita has advanced features like Bluetooth, 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity and also allows third party and first party games. With a powerful processor, it has a 200 MHz graphic processing unit. Highly controlled with a sensitive touch input, 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity with intelligent keypad as standard set by the previous NGPs, and a lightweight hand held console far advanced from the previous PSP 3000.

Sony’s PlayStation Vita can indeed be used as a PS3 controller. Added to that, the ability to play PS3 games directly on the PlayStation Vita and you’ve got a ready-made Wii U contender before Nintendo’s system is finished. You will be able to connect to Wi-Fi points as you would with any enabled device, although this does mean you can only play in the vicinity of a connection. While 3G lets you play on the move, there is still no word on pricing tariffs or data use restrictions.

The other great thing about the PS3 controller ability is that developers can put some of the processing work on the Vita so that you can enjoy a super nice graphical experience without the hassle of slow load times and sluggish game playing.
